drop

Hi all! In light of the announcement you've probably all seen and which Am has helpfully linked in her post below, I'm [insert metaphor here] and dropping both Anton Shudder and Solomon Wreath early, so I can focus on wrapping up any modthings which need to be done. Solomon's leaving only directly impacts a few, but Anton means a big change.

THE VANISHING OF THE MIDNIGHT HOTEL

Anton's leaving means that the Midnight Hotel is also going to disappear. This doesn't mean the characters in the Hotel will be left out in the cold!

The Hotel is currently possessing a real building in Central, which potentially has a different layout and/or is much bigger. When it vanishes, the Hotel's patrons will find themselves inside the 'host' building -- in beds, on floors, on furniture, however you want to play it. Since this building has been unused for so long, it's dusty and a bit decrepit, but is otherwise good in walls and foundation and would make an excellent hotel in its own right.

Since Anton did a good amount of work in Keeliai, there are some parts of the Midnight Hotel which have remained. The kitchen remains fully up to snuff, along with its magical utilities. The garage is still there. The staircases still have escalator and ramp functions. The entrance doors still access all the Sectors. The lobby in general is still in fairly good nick, with the front desk and its utensils (and the two consoles) still present.

The rest of the Hotel's layout, furniture and specific oddities, including most of the wards, protective/emotional detection wards, are gone.

Anton has thought ahead and left a will, which can be found in the room analogous to where his office had been located. He recommends Klaus as a supervisor for any future hotel.

Of Anton's possessions, there remains:
- the business ledgers Anton has used in Keeliai;
- the scythe Tony found for him (to be returned to Tony);
- the Gilgamesh Armor set given to him by Dante (to be given to Klaus);
- two porcelain unicorns (to go to Valdis);
- the electronic tablet Erskine had (to go to Valdis).

You may all assume that the three named NPCs, Muf and Herra (security) and Lang-hin (administration) keep the new building running as some kind of hotel welcoming to Foreigners, but if anyone wants to take it over as a PC feel free to discuss it in this thread in the itinerary here!

Thank you all for making the game a fun place to stay for two years.

♥ I'm sorry we didn't get to play more, but I enjoyed the threads we did have. Take care.
