team building!

Hey all, given that the event is now over, I'd like to do some planning for these little teams that Shepard is putting together~

If you'll recall this post she made before the event went down, in response to Kirk's call for more organization, Shepard is focusing on putting together some committees, in a sense, of foreigners who want to pool their resources and generally help make life better for everybody on the turtle.

The medical team would help organize both regular and emergency medical services, possibly set up networks and teams to keep clinics running across the turtle, collate medical records on foreigners (especially non-humans with special medical and/or dietary needs), that kind of thing.

The defense team would set up baseline self-defense training, possibly implement emergency procedures in the case of more zombie attacks, things like that.

I would love to drum up some more interest in this idea, so if you have a character with some of those skill sets - with or without powers, now! - please let me know if they would be interested in doing this, so we can plan some meetings and stuff! If you want to actually thread something out, you can always hit up Shep's IC contact, or we can just assume stuff.

Wally here would probably be better suited to Defense, but he did volunteer a bit at the clinic and he has some biology know-how. He could probably help with very basic things on the medic team, if his speed is any bonus.

Hm, well there's nothing necessarily barring anyone from helping with both, or say, making themselves like a "reserve emergency medic" or something! I'll add Wally to the list. :D

MED TEAM RULES

I mean uh. He's already signed up, but! Now that Jaime's got his powers back he'll be even more useful on the med team-- as well as knowing basic first aid-y stuff because of his overprotective nurse mama, the Scarab can analyze people and pick out things like major ailments and conditions and injuries. Also he can fly, so in the absence of a medical copter you got a Beetle. 8')

Oh I wanted to get Richard involved in this and I think life ended up happening and I failed to tag the post I'm sorry. He'd definitely be actually interested in it! He's a Defense person (he's only mildly capable of healing as he can only treat status ailments—burn, poison, etc) but he's got a lot of combat experience + diplomacy etc, on the grounds of being a warrior king. And he's all up for cooperation and teamwork.

Asbel's offered to teach people swordsmanship before so the defense team would be right up his alley! He's a trained Knight and has a lot of combat experience. He also believes in friendship past the point of stupidity into it being a damn superpower, but that's less relevant. He went total paragon sorry Shep.

Zel isn't much of a joiner, but will probably listen in to the bar conversation, on the general theory that he's against people looting his apartment and himself getting hurt.

Tazendra would, and would also suggest some sort of continuing research effort on how the turtle powers everyone's abilities. She's not the best at highly theoretical studies, but this has her motivated.

That would be great, actually - Shepard's original idea being to have sort of two "departments" of the medical team, one for more immediate dealing with medical issues stuff, and the other for more theoretical research stuff about the turtle and whatnot!
