So, after consultation with the mods, I've confirmed that Sabriel's ability to baptise others with Charter marks isn't nerfed! (Although some restrictions apply)

What does this mean?

Well, it means that one of Sabriel's magical powers is well- giving other people magical powers, and as the Kedan get more hostile, she's decided that hey, if people need a way to defend themselves, well, why not teach them magic?

However, there are some restrictions. Sabriel will only teach up to ten people, and only characters who don't already have some kind of magical ability. Also, I'd like to avoid having one or two casts monopolize all the slots.

I have the basics of an info post set up here.

This post is to gauge interest/potential reactions/hear suggestions. I am always up for Sabriel getting some negative CR if your character isn't a fan of magic!

I would maybe be interested in getting Reid involved in this ICly (it would probably depend on interaction, though, and I'm honestly not sure if he'd agree to it, but he is a 'magician' in the illusionist sense and it would ping his interest either way and he'd be super curious) but only if you've got spots left over and everyone who wants to get involved has already done so.

I think Alcuin would be interested in this. He does like to expand his knowledge and he would like some way to defend himself that isn't stabbing people.

He'd also probably like to learn healing magic.

Sabriel can definitely teach him that. (And unless her opponent is already dead, she isn't fond of lethal self defense herself.)

Oliver Queen of Arrow might be interested - mostly to see if he could attach basic spells to some of his arrows to achieve the stuff he does with tech back home.

Hm... Might take some practice, but that's possible! Sabriel can also show him ways to enchant his arrows to be more likely to hit their target, and fly farther and faster.

Oh this is interesting :|a (also hello I am Justine I think I missed your itro while I was on hiatus). I am not 100% sure if Steph would go for it, but she would definitely consider it.

That said, she already has a way to defend herself without any powers so if she knows spots are ICly limited, she wouldn't take one.

I guess what I'm saying here is that I would like to toss ideas around for Steph getting involved in this, if you would be interested!

Well, Sabriel wouldn't ICy bring up the limitation as a hard number, but she would probably say something about not being able to teach a whole bunch of people at once if questioned. Could that work?
